Coffee Braised Pulled Beef Recipe


For Rub:
  • 2 tablespoons coffee, finely ground
  • 1 tablespoon cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, crushed
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 2 pounds grass-fed beef chuck roast, trimmed and cut into 1½-inch cubes
For Sauce:
  • 1 cup homemade beef broth
  • ½ cup brewed coffee
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and ground black pepper, as required

How to make Coffee Braised Pulled Beef

  1. For rub: in a small bowl, mix together all ingredients except roast.
  2. Rub chuck roast with rub mixture generously.
  3. For sauce: in a food processor, add all ingredients and pulse until smooth.
  4. In the pot of Ninja Foodi, place the roast and top with sauce evenly.
  5. Close the Ninja Foodi with the pressure lid and place the pressure valve to Seal position.
  6. Select Pressure and set to High for 35 minutes.
  7. Press Start/Stop to begin cooking.
  8. Switch the valve to Vent and do a Natural release.
  9. Transfer the roast into a bowl and with 2 forks, shred the meat.
  10. Top with the pot sauce and serve.
