Spicy Pulled Beef Recipe

Ingredients:

  • ½ medium onion
  • 5 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 3 tablespoons chipotles in adobo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 pounds grass-fed beef bottom round roast, trimmed and cut into 3-inch pieces
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3 bay leaves

How to make Spicy Pulled Beef

  1. In a blender, add onion, garlic, chipotles, lime juice, oregano, cumin, cloves, cayenne and water and pulse until smooth.
  2. Season the beef with the salt and black pepper evenly.
  3. Select Sauté/Sear setting of Ninja Foodi and place the oil into the pot.
  4. Press Start/Stop to begin cooking and heat for about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the beef and cook for about 5 minutes or until browned completely.
  6. Press Start/Stop to stop cooking and stir in the pureed mixture and bay leaves.
  7. Close the Ninja Foodi with the pressure lid and place the pressure valve to Seal position.
  8. Select Pressure and set to High for 65 minutes.
  9. Press Start/Stop to begin cooking.
  10. Switch the valve to Vent and do a Quick release.
  11. With a slotted spoon, transfer the meat into a bowl and with two forks, shred the met.
  12. Add 1½ cups of the reserved liquid and stir to combine.
  13. Serve immediately.
