Donut Waffles with Maple Glaze Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup of white sugar
  • ¾ tsp. of salt
  • 2 tsp. of baking powder
  • ½ tsp. of powdered nutmeg
  • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp. of butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. of pure vanilla
  • ½ cup of whole milk
  • 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour

Ingredients for the glaze:
  • 4 tbsp. of butter, melted
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 8 tbsp. of maple syrup
  • 1 to 2 tbsp. of whole milk

How to make Donut Waffles with Maple Glaze

  1. Prepare the waffles. In a bowl, add in the white sugar, dash of salt, powdered nutmeg and baking powder. Stir well to mix.
  2. Add in the egg yolk, egg, butter and whole milk. Whisk until mixed.
  3. Preheat a waffle iron to medium heat. Grease both sides of the iron with cooking spray.
  4. Pour ¼ cup of the batter onto the waffle iron. Close the lid and cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden. Transfer onto a plate and set aside. Repeat.
  5. Prepare the glaze. In a bowl, add in the melted butter, powdered sugar, maple syrup and whole milk. Whisk until smooth in consistency. Drizzle over the top of the waffles.
  6. Serve.
