Chai Waffles Recipe


  • ¾ cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. of baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp. of light brown sugar
  • Dash of salt
  • ¼ tsp. of powdered cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. of powdered ginger
  • Dash of powdered nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. of powdered cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp. of powdered cloves
  • 1/8 tsp. of powdered fennels
  • 1/8 tsp. of powdered vanilla beans
  • 1 tsp. of coconut oil
  • ½ cup of unsweetened coconut milk
  • Maple syrup, for drizzling

How to make Chai Waffles

  1. In a bowl, add in the all-purpose flour, dash of salt, light brown sugar, baking powder, powdered ginger, powdered nutmeg, powdered cardamom, powdered cloves, powdered fennels and powdered vanilla beans. Stir well to mix.
  2. Add in the coconut oil and unsweetened coconut milk. Stir well until just mixed.
  3. Preheat a waffle iron to medium heat. Grease both sides of iron with cooking spray.
  4. Pour ¼ cup of the batter onto the waffle iron. Close the lid and cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden. Transfer onto a plate and set aside. Repeat.
  5. Serve the waffles immediately with the maple syrup.
